TurboTax leveraged its support of the NCAA March Madness Women’s and Men’s Tournaments to stay top of mind during the critical “Drive to File” period ahead of the April tax deadline. To maximize the partnership, we executed an integrated, phased communications strategy throughout the month-long tournament, driving diverse storylines that showcased TurboTax’s offerings while positioning the brand as a leader in the NIL space and a champion of financial literacy. The approach elevated TurboTax’s community engagement efforts to support tax education among college and high school athletes, amplified real-time NIL student-athlete deals across sports, lifestyle, and local media, and spotlighted athlete partners through interviews that highlighted their financial realities. Together with proactive outreach around creative and influencer campaigns, the strategy reinforced TurboTax’s relevance during tax season while strengthening its role as a trusted resource for athletes and consumers alike.
