Scotch® Painter’s Tape tasked HUNTER with sparking awareness and creating renewed relevance for the brand while the target was spending more time at home and DIY projects were gaining popularity. While painter’s tape is a low-involvement category and our competitors communicate mostly product features, HUNTER identified an opportunity to tap into consumers’ emotions with a transformation that goes beyond tape and paint. The brand teamed up with The Taj Gibson Foundation, Project Backboard and Brooklyn-based artist Steph Costello to transform rundown basketball courts at Brooklyn’s Ingersoll Houses into a bold piece of street art. This purpose-driven programming helped to uplift a community while demonstrating how Scotch® Painter’s Tape can help turn the ordinary into something extraordinary.
